Event Info

Lewis Capaldi is probably a name you haven’t heard before, but murmurs are slowly migrating down the country from Glasgow, the closest city to where Lewis resides in the small town of Bathgate. After years of watching the city’s music scene from the outside, Lewis is now placed firmly in the centre – having already played his own sell-out show at the famous King Tut’s despite only releasing his debut track today. No mean feat.

Bruises is not only a beautifully written, crafted and performed debut song, it showcases the many incredible voices that Lewis possesses. He slips between smooth baritone, gravelly mid-tone and haunting falsetto both effortlessly and with pinpoint accuracy.

A stripped down ballad that looks back on a failed relationship a few months removed, Lewis explains “At times your memory of an old relationship will be clouded and you’ll only seem to remember the best parts of being with someone. Completely ignoring the reasons why things came to an end makes the idea of holding on to it or wanting to go back to it seem more enticing than it actually is.”

After selling out King Tut’s, Lewis is now embarking on yet another big move, taking on the 600-cap St Luke’s in Glasgow on his upcoming headline tour, with all dates across the UK on the cusp of selling out. With this kind of excitement already reverberating before the self-release of ‘Bruises’, we can only imagine how much more there is to expect from young Lewis Capaldi.
